rainy days and mondays

today was most definitely NOT a good day. i can tell because mom was late getting home. and she seems to be annoyed. it is ok, though, because i am really tired too. i think she is winding down after an action-packed weekend, and then had to deal with some silliness at work. it seems like she has to solve a lot of problems for a lot of people, all the time. my question is, why doesnt everyone else think strategically like she does? why cant everyone else problem solve like she does? why cant everyone else put the pieces of the puzzle together like she does? i mean, from what i understand, which is only a dogs perspective, it seems like she has to basically solve the everyone elses' problems. now, i think this may actually be her job, but it sure doesnt seem like fun to me. me, i like to just deal with my own issues. things like, why arent the plantation shutters open today for me to see what is going on outside? or, it seems like maybe we need to get more dog food because some of mine tonight had some crumbs in it. or, i am not a fan of the rain these days, and i wonder when it is going to stop. other than that, i am not really sure what kind of problems a person could have, but it sure does seem like people have a lot of drama. i sure am glad i am a dog.

fall is here! what's a dog to do!!!!

This weekend was SO busy! first, my mom's friend Brooke was in town for the night! then, her cousin and family came for the weekend! there is a HUGE arts festival this weekend every year, and her cousin was actually a participant this year and did GREAT! and it looks like mom bought some new pieces to hang on the wall too, but i am not sure where she is going to put them...and THEN, she had a cookout! needless to say, i was not around for the cookout. i had much better things to do, and plans of my own, at doggie day care. My mom is SO tired today. She crammed a lot of activities into one 48 hour time period. It was a lot, even for her, the master multi-tasker.

I was most excited when i got home because herguests left a LOT of crumbs all over the patio, so i managed to help her lick those up. It was all downhill after that, however, as i found myself drawn to the sofa and the Redskins game. I did wear my Hokie collar all weekend, and they WON AGAIN~!! i think i am bringing the team good luck. maybe we will make it to the ACC championship. i am saying we but i know dogs cant go. im not stupid.

My mom also did a great job of keeping the refrigerator organized. i cant believe how she is able to keep things so neat. it is almost an art form. why cant everyone in this world have the same attention to detail? i wonder this often.

Overall, i think she had a pretty good weekend. she definitely had a GREAT time with her friends and family. She looks kind of tired though, maybe i will be mellow tonight to give her a chance to chill...
